V1

In the smoky room where the neon hums

Bartender serves drinks and broken thumbs

Strummin' a six-string with a scarred old hand

Living our lives like we always planned

V2

Down the highway with the windows down

Sun's sinking on this dusty town

Eldorado's cruise we have wild-eyed smiles

We'll be gone in just a little while

Ch

Bars guitars and Cadillac cars

Chasing our dreams under midnight stars

Living loud breaking hearts like glass

We'll never slow down burning up so fast

With Bars guitars and Cadillac cars

V3

Summer nights with the moon in sight

Picking old blues on a old porch swing

Voices echo in the restless night

Together breaking dawn's first light

CH

BR

Can you hear the call of the open sky

Whispered secrets of the miles gone by

[Chorus]

Bars guitars and Cadillac cars

Chasing our dreams under midnight stars

Living loud breaking hearts like glass

We'll never slow down burning up so fast

With Bars guitars and Cadillac cars

Bars guitars and Cadillac cars ... Yeah

Very nostalgic for me, in a way. I wasn't in the thick of it, though I wanted to be. I was a spectator at the time. My favorite line--breaking hearts like glass.

Takes me back...

Song takes me back to the stage looking out across a layer of smoke and the smell that always kept me on the edge of staying or leaving. We called them slime bars back then because both the venues and the patrons were exactly that. It's where the bottom dwellers launched many a career in music.

The song is good and the theme is so spot on. Great beer buying tune.
