As Halloween approaches, I recall a cover song from 1979 by the Atlanta Rhythm Section titled Spooky. It reached No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the US. An earlier cover of the song was released by The Classics IV in 1968, which reached No. 1 in Canada, No. 3 in the US, and No. 46 in the UK. The version by the Atlanta Rhythm Section stayed very true to the original.
