Are "blue collar worker struggling" songs still a thing?

Someone Else's Street

I clock in at sunrise, hammer in my hand
Framing up these houses on someone else's land
It's my hard work and know-how makes these walls grow
But I can't give my family a house of their own

I'm building dreams for wealthy folk
While I try to make ends meet
I'm building mansions daily
On someone else's street

Calluses and splinters, pride in what I do
Every home I finish, somebody's dream comes true
But when the workday's over and I drive home
I pass by all those houses that I'll never own

I'm building dreams for wealthy folk
While I try to make ends meet
I'm building mansions daily
On someone else's street

Someday I may have enough to buy a piece of land
Build a home for my family with my own two hands
Till then I'll keep on building, saving what I can
To make my dream come true, at least that's the plan

But, for now
I'm building dreams for wealthy folk
While I try to make ends meet
I'm building mansions daily
On someone else's street

One day me and my family will live under our own roof
That's worth more than any mansion,
That's the honest truth

Very nice lyric.  It works exactly as intended.
Nice to have the juxtaposition between what he builds and what he can't have.
