Hi folks, with a title like this I don't believe a trigger warning is necessary 😉
This was written in the spirit of our American revolution, reflecting the long, hard four years that the MAGA campaign journeyed to the White House. It's not intended to disparage any of the fine people of America. Consider this message with a grain of salt, or not. It's my song, and it's a song attempting to capture the fighting spirit that gave us that historic victory we call the presidential election of 2024.
Let me know what you think. Thanks
Let's Make America Great Again

There's no time for wasting the time that we have.
Bandage the wounded; lay thick the salve.
The battle was won, but the war presses on.
Make ready, you Captains; it's only begun.
And it's a matter not of if, but when.
Our hearts may buckle and bend,
But if the cause is worth our blood to defend,
Let's Make America Great Again.
A prayer for the good men true to the cause.
To you fine ladies, deserving applause!
For here I know not who of us God will save.
But we'll win for all those laid into a grave.
And do I hear a rousing Amen?
Take heart; our prayers will ascend,
And if our cause is worth its fight to the end,
Let's Make America Great Again.
To the big whips of Congress and all you unknowns,
Stand up and get off your paper thrones.
The road to glory will be met with a shrill,
For the devils are here, and on Capitol Hill.
The time has come to root out the sin—
The traitors, the turncoats within.
If our blood is worth more than the ink in your pens,
Let's Make America Great Again.
To all you nay-sayers who sit in the back,
Just shaking your heads and throwing up flak,
The road's a long one and it's hell-awful wide.
You're welcome to join us or move to the side,
And we'll see the true colors of men—
The ones that count in the end.
Well produced and performed
It's like a new take on that famous Dylan song.
I have trouble getting behind it.
Recent political events at home and in
Americaland make a fair listen very difficult.
Kamala and Co. were certainly a huge disgrace and the Donald is a different flavour of something that should not be tasted.
Technically
The song is fine 🙂 👍

Thank you, sir, for your civil restraint. Where do you live? In America, or elsewhere?
It is actually a call that should awaken sleeping ears, all countries would benefit from that awakening, if it happens!!! I like the way it sounds.
@IronKnee
Let's hope so Tom . Sounds good man
oh its just politics , He's raising hell I see , His MO. They keep bitching about Trump , maybe the liberals should find someone better and stop crying they lost .

It's time to pray and hope... like we mean it, this time!
Hi,
@IronKnee This is very competent, but as other have alluded to, it is so close to The Times They Are a Changing that if it was to have any success, Dylans lawyers might be getting in touch with you :)
Obviously the subject matter was always going to be divisive and I think one of life's greatest mysteries for people who do not live in the USA is how could anyone vote in Trump. But its happened now and four years isn't such a long time :)

Hi Nick....thanks for stopping by!
I'm not worried about anything I write making money. I did have a looksey at "The Times....Changing"
The verse parts of my stanzas are close. I veer in and out of his first 3 lines of his original melody, while he uses a few more guitar chords highlighting those differences between the two melodies.
The lyrics are worlds apart.
Any similarity is completely unintentional. Hell, I was stuck on it when I started writing this and wasn't really impressed with the melody until I found the pre-chorus and chorus of the stanzas.
As far as anyone voting for Trump...... it's a "conservative" thing. If you take what your news hands you, without question, you are probably going to revile Trump. Thankfully, most of us learned to discern the difference between BS and the truth. Brother, there is a monumental amount of BS out there in the news.

I live elsewhere.
In Germany, I'm from England.

I'm curious, living in Germany as an Englander, what is untasteful about Trump?

There have been important changes. The first is that I have been able to travel despite my agoraphobia. It was for health reasons, but after many months of trying I finally managed it and I am happy. Otherwise, life goes on every day. I hope you and your family are doing well there!!

Really?
Well, he has stirred up confidence in the far right political party over here. (Probably other places too)
There could be disastrous consequences.
Trump himself comes across as a shady business man, a country is more than a business. There are too many unpleasant points to mention regarding the man.
And yet, the opposition were somehow more annoying. 😆
All that gaslighting, particularly regarding the health of Biden.
The elections in the US are entertaining. Sadly, it's not fiction, and influences the rest of the world.
Political songs always get heat , They're not much on unity , its either far left or right.
This is swinging right , cuz of hook
Well anyway peace man

I'm glad to hear you are getting out. I love to travel... travel inspires me. I tend to swerve way wide of crowds, myself. I love the human spirit... don't care much for people, as a whole.
Don't get lost out there..... home is always close.

Just curious as to how you out there overseas think. One thing I have learned, the media is masterful at shaping a narrative.

Heat and dissent are all part of life. My Grandfather often said "opinions are like a-holes..... everyone has one" :o
There it is. We all have one, and life goes on.
