I have a new one...a bit of Blues/Rock... well, my version of Blues/Rock. Would love to have the late and great SRV do it.
"Don't Call Me"

Don't you call me a liar
Don't you call me a snake
You're the wolf that'll hide in sheep's clothes
You do what you do just to take
So, don't you call me your fire
Don't you call me your saint
Don't you call me the love of your life
The heart on your sleeve's only paint
No, no, no, don't call me
No, no, no, don't call me
Find yourself a new heart ache
Find yourself a new heart ache
Now, don't you call me your baby
Don't you call me your rock
Don't you call me to come pick you on up
One foot before the other
Is how you walk your talk
No, no, no, don't call me
No, no, no, don't call me
Find yourself a new heart ache
Find yourself a new heart ache
Woo-hoo! That's different from what I've heard from you before! Not that I've listened to everything you've done... Got my foot tapping, that's for sure. I have no nits.
Vicki
It's got a lovely ramshackled vibe about it, almost sounds like you have Crazy Horse backing you!
But I could hear this being tightened up into a very cool blue rock number.
You pushing your voice sounds good too. Great raw stuff!
Hola
@IronKnee another good song, I love the lyrics and how you sang it, I think when you finish putting it together and everything is perfectly synchronized it will be a hit!! I tell you this because I seem to perceive that guitars and voice are sometimes not well adjusted?

Hi Vickey....thanks for listening. I'm glad you were able to comment on this one.
I haven't picked up an electric guitar in over 12 years. It was fun..... a little foreign.... but fun.

Thanks, T. The whole thing was done pretty fast, and my voice felt cold. I'm glad I got this one done... and out of the way.

Hi M...thanks for stopping by.
The production was done with one take on each guitar and a couple of struggle sessions with the voice.
Anyways... it's done. I think the essence of the song is there and for anyone to pick it up.
Thanks, again!
hi this seems like a quite impulsive, quickly written and recorded track.
That's a good thing, sort of keeps it fresh
Quite a simple song
Sounds great
but the 1st
Find yourself a new heart ache
It's a good line, I think.
but the first one seems to be just finding it's way.
Were I you, I'd consider recording anew, at least in parts

Hi Rightly..... thanks for the suggestion.
The "
find yourself a new heartache" is a bit of a build... from calm to pissed, know what I mean?
And you are right. The whole song was put together really fast. If there is a Blues/Rock band out there that fancies the late SRV's music, and wants something original, my hope is that the grit of this song shines through.
After that, I want to move on to other works-in-progress.
Thanks for listening and being very perceptive.
You are spot on!
