Title: Notorious Lady's For Sale
Post by: JJ Townley on Nov 13, 2025, 05:53 AM
Would love some feedback on this. Don't hold back. If it has no potential please be frank. Of course the opposite is also appreciated. But I dont want to invest in having a music video made if it would be a waste of time and $$$$'s. Thanks much.

Greatly appreciate your kindness, Mora.I have about 1000 views on YouTube but not a single person made a comment on it which causes me to doubt whether it's any good or not.

Great music and vocals. Is the vocalist a session singer? Some good imagery in the lyric as well. If you're open to making a few lyrical adjustments, I think a little tweaking would raise the bar, adding colour to the character and the scenario.  Perhaps consider a more dynamic rhyme scheme to break up the monotony of  AA BB rhyming couplets.

As you asked for feedback, I hope the suggestions are useful, as intended. Keep or sweep, of course.  :)

V1
"Never gets old; she's too smart for that. Great first line.
Catches men's eyes when she purrs like a cat. The word 'purr' relates to hearing rather than seeing. Maybe along the lines of 'Mens' ears perk up when she purrs like a cat'. Or simply 'Men go crazy when she purrs like a cat'. Lots of ways you could go with this.
Out on the street with the shadows of jail. The last part of this line is weak. The 'jail' image could be stronger.
The notorious lady's for sale.
V2
Ready to start at the break of day. Maybe more visual interest in this first line?
Smile when men smile, then she points the way. Do you mean 'Smiles when men smile'?
Her friends all plead but to little avail. 'To little avail' sounds overly formal', and like a forced rhyme. Maybe something like 'worry' rather than 'plead'. Feels more down to earth.
The notorious lady's for sale.

Bridge?
But when daylight fades and her hustling is through
She's looking in the mirror saying,
"Who are you?"
Sinks to the floor and begins to weep.
Then climbs into bed and sleeps a fitful sleep. Rather than repeat 'sleep', maybe something like 'Then crawls into bed, falls into a fitful sleep'. Gives you a bit of alliteration as well (falls/fitful) and vowel rhymes (crawls/falls).  ;)

But another day comes and with it the pain
Of knowing the score and going out just the same. Good line. Tells us more about her.
Her smile's a mask to hide the travail. 'Travail' is a $10 word, at odds with the looser, down-to-earth vibe of the lyrical narrative. Feels like a forced rhyme for 'sale'.
The notorious lady's for sale.
The notorious lady's for sale.
The notorious lady's for sale."

Sightengine AI‑Generated Music Detector: A commercial service/API that allows you to upload an audio file (MP3, WAV etc) and it outputs a probability that the track is AI-generated. It works with music generated by Suno, Udio, Riffusion, etc.

https://sightengine.com/detect-ai-generated-music

The site indicates that there is a 99% probability that this song was generated by AI.

Thanks for that link, icystorm.

I had my suspicions as well, especially regarding the lyric. It's so obviously inferior to the music and the vocals.

I noted that the poster has a strong online presence as a composer of classical music, so - to give the benefit of the doubt - I thought maybe he was simply having a shot at doing something in a different genre. A pity that I and others wasted our precious time giving feedback.

You're welcome. There is a bin (sub-forum) for AI content, but occasionally someone will rudely ignore that and post fake content outside of that bin. That's their way of telling the rest of us, "To hell with the rules. We'll do anything we damn well please."

Fortunately, we have the options of (a) ignoring the offending post, (b) reporting the post, (c) deleting or modifying our comments when we mistakenly waste our time giving feedback to an offending poster, (d) calling attention to the offending post and poster so that others are not tricked or fooled by them, or some combination thereof.

If people want to create and post AI-generated songs, that's fine and there's a bin for that, but why post to the sub-forums intended for songs written by humans? It makes no sense unless it's their intent to be offensive for kicks and cause problems for their own amusement.

Cheers,
Joseph

Yes, I thought AI before I read the other comments. There's now several different sites that claim to be able to detect AI generated music and lyrics too, though I'm not sure how accurate they are.

It's difficult when the poster doesn't say anything about it's creation. I notice there's some other very different material on the website including a symphony.

Forgive me but I won't say anything else until I know more.
