Title: Paint You A Picture
Post by: BeatlesFan64 on Aug 08, 2026, 06:56 PM
A song for my latest album. More of my sentimental storytelling, this one, but the upbeatness made it a joy to record. It's either an opener or a closer for certain, or maybe the one right in the middle? I'm not sure yet. Oh yeah, I have switched to recording with Logic Pro since the last time I posted here (also, it was the previous website. I'm old enough to remember the first time it changed :p). Well, anyway, can't wait to hear y'all's thoughts.

Lyrics, music, and performance by Tommy L. Day and the Runaways (c)2026

(v1)
Let me paint you a picture, of two happy people and one special night
Let me paint you a picture, with words as my canvas, I'll set the scene right
She murmured soft and low
She said she loved me so

(v2)
Let me paint you a picture, an evening to treasure the chance we've been given
Let me paint you a picture, I held her and felt awfully glad to be livin'
Her kiss was like a magic elixir
Let me paint you a picture

(Bridge)
By the morrow I was thousands of miles away
But I told her, I'd love her again come what may
Until that day

(v3)
Let me paint you a picture, a portrait of all that we've shared with each other
Let me paint you a picture, the promise we've made won't be shared with another
The time apart will make this love richer
Let me paint you a picture

(Inst. verse)

(Bridge)
By the morrow I was thousands of miles away
But I told her, I'd love her again come what may
Until that day

(v1 modified)
Let me paint you a picture, of two happy people and one special night
Let me paint you a picture, with words as my canvas, I'll set the scene right
When I come home, she'll see how I've missed her
Then I'll paint you a picture

(Coda)
Then I'll paint you a picture
