This one is one of the first songs I wrote when I finally started writing again about 3 years ago after decades of not trying.
Some DaysSome days are bright and filled with laughter
And some with fear
Some days go by before we even know they're here
So shake the cobwebs from the rafters
And get it clear
We get one go and then we disappear
So sleep on it tonight
Maybe in the morning you will feel alright
Maybe with your sandy eyes you'll realize
This moment is all there is
It's worth the time to try and capture
The here and now
It's worth the time to try and see somehow
But clouds of thought are chasing after
And crease your brow
It seems as though they never will allow
So sleep on it tonight
Maybe in the morning you will feel alright
Maybe with your sandy eyes you'll realize
This moment is all there is
We look behind us and we look ahead
And then we turn ourselves around so we can do it again
'Though we never see the in-between
I try to quiet all the thoughts in my head
By looking closer at my breathing, but I'm dreaming instead
My brain's pinging like a submarine
Floating in an ocean of dopamine
So sleep on it tonight
Maybe in the morning you will feel alright
Maybe with your sandy eyes you'll realize this moment
Is all there is
Thanks for the comment
@Vicki . Yeah, the topic for this one came from the frustrations arising while trying to meditate and "be here now."
@mattyoungmusic -- This is an excellent track musically, lyrically, and vocally. It has a strong 60s vibe and the mix is clear. I enjoyed listening. This is the best song I've heard from you so far -- not that the others weren't good too. Nice work! ;D
@mattyoungmusic I enjoyed this, great voice, backing uncomplicated but very effective, good lyrics. Well done
@icystorm Thanks very much!
@calafinestrat Thanks for listening. The backing was done on an ipad with garageband a few years ago. I'd love to redo it in a proper DAW, but that would run the real risk of over-complicating it!
