I don't have any specific feedback for this, but I did enjoy it.

WOW - that intro made me sit up and listen

I love the overall "psychedelic" type feeling - there are some sections where the BVs are a bit out of tune, but it does kinda work for the track

Listening on headphones shows that the stereo panning is supporting the psychedelic vibe - you could really push this concept and try out some swirly phaser effects on some of the guitars and vocals - or even a large chunk of the mix in a particular section

The song has a great 80s vibe

My main critique is around the production/mix

I found it all very "in your face", as if it has been mastered/limited too much - which makes it sound too "aggresive" and almost "fatiguing" to listen to

I think the track would benefit from some more low-end, which would help smooth out the aggressiveness of the track

You have done a great mixing the rhythm guitars - they all compliment each other nicely

The lead guitar tone was a bit too "wasp in a can" and too forward in the mix for my personal taste

A bit more variation and "energy" in the drum pattern would transform this track - e.g. some big fills and crashy cymbals

However, all of the elements are there - and I think spending some time doing a remix would be time well spent to make the most of the performances - which were great

Thank you very much for that analysis, Boydie.  Can't argue with any of the criticisms, you're spot on.  Very grateful for the praise, which is very kind of you.  You've really taken the time, listened, and listened again by the sound of it.  Mixes of rhythm guitars are my first thing, often five or six of them bounced together. I keep the bass and lead guitars separate so I can adjust them on the fly.  The drums are just a simple loop from the Boss BR800, with no fills or anything, I haven't got that far yet, I just use it as a fuller metronome really.  Vocals are never my strong point, I just overdub for a bit to strengthen them and add until I've had enough.  Mistakes remain usually.  Mastering mixes use some built in compression and they can be hit and miss, sounding different when I take them off the machine, but I am working on new ones all the time.  Cheers for the listen and your thoughts, buddy.

You could see the lyrics in the second post, but not the mp3 file embedded in the first post?  That's strange.  Are you a member of the HomeRecording.com?  I don't think you need to be a member to see the post but if that was the problem, I don't understand how you could see the lyrics.  Could you let me know why you couldn't play the song?  Thanks for the review of the lyrics though!
