The incredibly talented and lovely Gabriella Quevedo performed an acoustic guitar cover of a jazz pop hit from 2002. A gorgeous rendition! ;D

I'm remembering VHS rentals in the 1980s. In the US, a trip to the video rental store was often a weekend activity, with rows of tapes lining the walls and cover art that stuck with you as much as the movies themselves. It was a slower kind of entertainment compared to the instant access we have today. Yet the time warp isn't too extreme, since there are still Redbox machines around with DVD rentals, kind of like ICE machines. LOL!!! Does anyone still rent DVDs? 😂🤣

Quote from: melroy pheasant on Apr 06, 2026, 05:35 PMUsually more challenging soundscapes as this add to what you call the 'madness' by having even more challenging, abstract lyrics. The key to this is the directness of the lyrics and emotion amongst an always changing series of sounds. Vibe wise similar to Bowie's Alabama Song and some Yoko Ono in the lyrics. Fun, but angst.

I'm not sure if we've met before or not; I'm a bit absentminded. Anyway, thanks for stopping by and commenting on my painting. Whether you like it or not, you're breathing life back into this dormant, sometimes vanished forum.

I still can't listen to this song calmly, without getting goosebumps while I do... I don't know if you understand... sometimes these things happen to me with some of my own creations.
Well, I hope to hear some of your creations too; I'm curious.

See you?

In 1983, the Brothers Gibb wrote five songs for the Staying Alive soundtrack, including I Love You Too Much. It wasn't released as a single, but stands out as a strong album track and was featured in the film. While neither the movie nor the soundtrack reached the same level of success as their predecessors, the soundtrack still reached No. 6 in the USA. Cynthia Rhodes and Finola Hughes brought beauty and charm to the film.

The song laments loving a woman who shares her passion, but does not want a commitment. It features clever lyrics, especially in the chorus, which underscore the intimate tension in the movie.

Over you is where I should be, I could be loving you too much
Under me is where you should be, I could be loving you too much

I Love You Too Much

That was a smooth, dance-pop shimmer that is suitable for the warm days of early spring. Lively, caressing beat and a great voice with nothing dominating or overpowering the track. Very relaxing. Feel good.

Nice mixture of 80s arena rock and power pop with an unexpected quiet part for the chorus/title line and a great change. Feels laid back so avoids being overwrought as the genre and title might suggest. Good listen, some nice turns.

I recently enjoyed revisiting an episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents titled The Waxwork. In the show, a writer arranges to spend the night in the Murders' Den crypt of a wax museum featuring replicas of infamous killers. What follows is a mix of eerie, otherworldly tension and eventual chaos! I rate the episode a solid 6 of 10 stars. The plot is predictable, but still worth a watch. ;D

6⭐ Decent overall, with some noticeable flaws. Still okay for late-1950s era filming and production. 🤔👍

My latest is a collaboration.  Managed to snag the talents of a great singer.

Everything seems so right
Since you came into my life
A world that I just couldn't face

Feelings I had to hide
Turned off a switch inside
Now it all clicks into place

I never thought you'd come
You are the only one
Woke up a sleeping part of me

Heard you on the telephone
Couldn't leave the well alone
A part I thought I'd never see

Awake.

You don't know how much you give
You see the world for what it is
You're not like other men

Made me feel like someone else
Cannot help but pinch myself
Now I feel alive again

Awake.

A chance I thought I'd never take
Love I thought I'd never make
A heart I thought would always break
Now I finally feel awake

Awake.
