The Bar / Re: What are you remembering?

In the 1980s and 1990s in the US, The Weather Channel featured a variety of instrumental music styles during its local forecast segments, including fusion jazz, new age, traditional jazz, classical, ambient, and smooth jazz. For a trip down memory lane, many of those songs and artists are identified, with playable clips, at the The Weather Channel Classics (audio) website.

For many viewers, those instrumentals became part of their daily routine. Hearing the same catchy themes over and over for weeks, months, and years, without any song or artist identification, became a source of curiosity for many. Viewers regularly called and e-mailed The Weather Channel asking what they had just heard. It was enough that the network eventually maintained separate month-by-month music playlists on its website.

A 2007 report said the channel's compilation CD drew from its most requested selections, and fan archivists have preserved the legacy ever since. The TWC Classics website maintains official playlists obtained from The Weather Channel and BMI, along with viewer-contributed information and a "Name That Tune" section for tracks that remained unidentified. ;D

Great chorus that takes the listener by surprise with its structure. Brave to do a country song with 'Desperado' in the title, but it stands by itself. Very good mood and swagger.Guitar licks are the kind I like in country.

Usually more challenging soundscapes as this add to what you call the 'madness' by having even more challenging, abstract lyrics. The key to this is the directness of the lyrics and emotion amongst an always changing series of sounds. Vibe wise similar to Bowie's Alabama Song and some Yoko Ono in the lyrics. Fun, but angst.

Every Breath You Take

It's definitely got an 80s vibe. From the great guitar and the apposite lyrics. Sounds a bit familiar...Bryan Adams sings a ZZTop lyric in general, but melody-wise something specific. Anyway, hits the genre with a bullseye. A teen movie of the era NEEDED this song.

Posted on and off here a while (and the site has been on and off too, good to have it back). Aiming at production music worthy tracks, have one l licensed so far. Doing some with AI, a lot the usual way.
Singer, songwriter, acoustic guitarist.
UK based. Looking forward to getting stuck back in here.

You can still use the finished product as demos to artists. If you've subscribed you can try lease to production music companies. They usually say if they're okay with AI. I'm in the UK too and there does seem to be some reluctance around AI in the music biz.
With Suno, I just upload lyrics then prompt. Download stems and a producer builds up instruments around the vocal.
With Suno AI, the vocals are great, the music is generic imo.

In 1978, the beautiful Olivia Newton-John released A Little More Love as the lead single from her album Totally Hot. The song was a hit, peaking at No. 3 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and No. 4 on the UK Singles Chart.
