Hi,

Nice song, I like the feel of the song. I also get Tom Petty and also little bit Byrds reference.
The guitar solo could be more powerful.

Good work!

Thanks for listening and commenting!  Yea....if only I was better! :-[

Great stuff Tom. I'm. A real sucker for a good melody and this song has got that. Love the jangly guitar and think the vocals work really well. Love the intro too.

Cheers

John

Thanks John, for stopping by......and thanks for the encouragement!

Hi, definitely getting the Tom petty vibe! Agree with the other comments about the bass. Not really my genre but there was a natural warmth to the vocal and the subject so that drew me in! Nice guitar sounds that fitted well with the overall arrangement.
Cheers
Jamie

Thanks Jamie......the inspiration behind my song was the Beatle's rendition of the Buck Owens hit, "Act Naturally". Thanks for listening and commenting!!

Nice idea and well played n sung. The punchline is a good one, and in itself very Tom Petty but like somebody else said it kind of fell a bit flat. Sorry don't know what you could have done to give it what it needs....yeah maybe some harmonies on the repeats of the line...I don't know.

The song's got a nice pace and feel to it...just missing a bit of a punch!

Hey there......one of my greatest frustrations is that I am not musically gifted. The "punch" is in the power of the playing. Using a boxer analogy, anyone can punch but some can really knock you out!
I have fun with what I do...but, I'll always keep trying ;D
Thanks for listening and commenting!!

Thanks everyone!!

I'm a big Tom Petty and Steve Earle fan,I hear influences from both those.

I like the song itself, but the lack of bass undermines it so much. The lack of balls is so noticeable. Even if you were to get in there on the root notes it would be a great step up.

Liked this one, just my type of song.  +1 on the bass comments. If you like I would be happy to record a simple bass line for you. Just PM me if you want it done.

The vox is very upfront, just wonder if a touch more reverb might be a good thing. The vocals are great though, loved the little asides you through in every now and again. Those little touches really add something to the feel of the song and give it that cheekiness.

Enjoyed.

Allan.

Gave me some Tom Petty vibes (which is a very good thing in my book). Good vocals though a bit too upfront and "detached" from the music. Catchy chorus and solid verses. This song has great potential imho but is let down a bit by the production (or rather lack thereof), badly missing the bass etc. Get the production done and this will be a killer!

Not bad, not bad at all. :)

It has that campfire, sixties feel to it, which makes it sound like a REAL piece of music to my ears.

Good lyrics, though some kind of chorus in would have been a nice addition maybe.

This is yet another really cool and engaging entry.

Great concept and I really like the slant you put on it lyrically.

Yeah... I guess some bass would have anchored the whole thing down nicely...

but even without, it was a very enjoyable listen :)

Just loved it Tom :) I would really love to see you perform live :o I bet you're a real natural on stage :)
All those little spoken asides, really make this song personable, with a very catchy melody  :)
Great vocals, although maybe a tad too upfront/loud, but nice to hear the words so clearly :)
I liked the intro, but I thought the song came in unexpectedly, louder...nearly knocked me off
my chair  ;D
Awesome concept and lyrics...so much fun and it sounds like you really enjoy singing this  ;D
Kudos all 'round form me. Great entry :) :)

Thanks Wolfi.....a "standard" chorus just didn't seem to manifest itself when I was writing this :P
