A strange song that may not make any sense.

Any comments will be gratefully received.

Verse 1

He came on down the mighty Humber
On a cold winter's day
We sail west with the rising son
Haul away lads, haul away

Chorus

Jose Mourinho, Jose Mourhino he sees no ships
Jose Mourinho, Jose Mourinho we can't read his lips

Verse 2

He looks around expecting go-ld
On the cold amber ground
We came home with a silver cod
Sing it loud boys, sing it loud

Chorus x2

Bridge

Whilst standing in the nest of crows
Ahab sights the whale boys, Ahab sights the whale
There she blows boys, there she blows
Ahab lost the whale boys, Ahab lost the whale

Whilst standing in the field so cold boys
Jose looked away boys, Jose looked away
Steal the gold boys, steal the gold
Ahab's on his way boys, Ahab's on his way

Chorus

Verse 3

He sails up the mighty Humber
On a cold winter's night
We sail east to greet the rising son
Say goodnight boys, say goodnight

Chorus to fade

Thanks

Keith

Hi,

Now I'm not going to attempt to forensically interpret these lyrics beyond some kind of battle between the heart of the Tigers vs the cold hard cash of the Red Devils (complete with JM at the helm) but I expect that's totally wrong - after all I'm a dyed in the wool Hammer - thanks for Snodgrass by the way!!  ;D

BUT getting away from the BEAUTIFUL game...

I think these lyrics are superb. Engaging, catchy and full of musicality

Looking forward to the song...?

Quavers, Crotchets, Doritos. What's the difference?

I agree superb lyrics no doubt about that, put the right music to this and get the Hull supporters club to sing it (im guessing its Hull you support) and you're on a winner, mightn't beat Man u but you sure have a great time singing this.

Hope you dont mine but this remind me of an impersonation i heard of Jose when he was with Chelsea, he actually invited the impersonator over to the club after he heard this song, which he thought was great.

Great lyrics Keith.

Sorry Phil, nothing to do with the money machine that is Manchester United. That's the beauty of lyrics though, once written they get a life of their own. Andy Carroll will score 7 or 8 goals from Snodgrass' set pieces. Snodgrass'll be guaranteed to score a couple against us.

I'm messing with a chord structure at the minute so a song maybe along in a month or so.

Thanks for the comments.

Oldbutyet, yes I do come from Hull, I can tell you don't :)

Hull was a rugby league city who tried to strangle association football at birth. Most City fans refer to us as City as Hull is a rugby league team that shares the KCOM.

Liked the link, very funny.

Not sure about a sing-a-long but its coming together slowly.

Thanks for the comments, much appreciated.
