Hi guys

I'm thinking about making my own stompbox (not the guitar pedal kind, but the foor percussion thing). I was wondering if anyone of you did that before and if you've got any tips?
I read that you can use a piezo buzzer (which I would have to buy) or a headphone speaker (got an old one hanging around, but not much of a techie...). But I've got an "old" acoustic pickup lying around. Does anyone of you know if I could use that instead? And how?

Cheers!

Not if it's the type of pickup that goes in the sound-hole. Those depend on the movement of metal strings in their magnetic field to generate sound so they would be no use at all. Piezo transducers are as cheap as chips - couple of quid or something from Maplins or the internet.

I know this thread is quite old, but I did finally get to making my stompbox.
Don't mean to bump this one, just thought I'd show you the result.
It was actually quite easy to make, I expected it to be harder.
