Quite a beautiful song, love the lyrics and your voice was well suited to this type of folky ballad.
Best of luck with it

This is a lovely little song

I could also feel the emotion and the accent on some of the words really did help to colour the song in a good way

I also really liked the little guitar touches between the lyrics

There was a line or 2 near the start that sounded like it was a bit forced to fit, which stuck out to me because the all the others sounded so good - this may be worth re-visiting if you ever go back to tweak the song

Rather than an outro perhaps a simple guitar break in the middle to break the song up a bit (and to get the length you want)

Just a thought

Great job though and definitely my favourite of yours (so far...)

This is lovely Steph. I think your voice is very lekker  ;D But I agree with Kaf, the emotion is there, you can hear it but you can also in places hear a lack of confidence.
It's a beautiful song, it deserves it.  :)

Just a note to everyone else... Dutchbeat and Steph were just talking about how one day they plan to overthrow the forum and turn it into a Dutch speaking forum.

Very nice simple acoustic guitar and vocal, right up my street. I do think it would sound nice with some building production as it progresses, maybe an accordian or something, just to add depth. But this is very nice as what feels like an unplugged version of a more produced song.

Hi Stephanie,

It seems like a million years since i was last in the forum. Decided to pay a visit, and as someone who is a sucker for a good female vocal I opted for yours. Really nice.
Your voice has that quality to it which comes from confidence in what you are doing and a sincerity about the words you are singing.
I like the organic feel of the guitar and a real simple but solid production.
Glad I listened.

All the best,

Digger

Thanks for the lovely comments everyone!

Haha, Schavuitje, thanks for ruining our surprise attack  :p

I'll work on the confidence when I sing. And try and elaborate the song with a little background instrumentation.

Cheers, digger. That's a great compliment :)

Thoroughly enjoyed this, thanks for the post. I personally am with the people who praise the minimalist approach - I think it fits the style and content of the song very well.

relaxing like a tumbler full of southern comfort by a log fire.

Now that's a quote for the back of the album!
