This is my first finished write in almost a month now, really should make more time for it, but here goes.
The genius that invented love at first sight
Never told us how to spot the signs
When will we know when true love strikes?
It might take an instant, it might take a life
There are many opportunities
For love to grow
But what happens when
We're both too slow?
You could be in the next street
Or alone in Tokyo
It may never happen
We may never know
Everyone is beautiful to someone out there
The only difficulty is when and where
It could be the one with the dazzling smile
Or what about the one with the cold grey eyes?
What if we have missed our only chance
To hear the sound of chiming bells and the old brass band?
I'll never be able to gain your trust
Or even get to spend the night with you, me and lust
There are many opportunities
For love to grow
But what happens when
We're both too slow?
Like a word out of place
Or a bird without song
There's always something missing
There's always something wrong
It may never happen
We may never know
