Hi,
Here's a tune sung and co-written with my mate Pete Hotston, who the singer in our covers band Faccombe 'all. Pete had the title and verse and we just filled in the rest together.
Simply recorded its a bit like a demo and probably could do with some backing vocals but I'd love to know what you think of it.

And should I put the lyrics hear now Soundcloud has hidden them a bit?

Random hearts collide, across the great divide
Hearts don't notice creed or culture
They don't care, there's some attraction there
its not just gravity that keeps me here

Random hearts aren't all that strange
Put together then rearrange
Random hearts can be in love
Plenty as the stars above
Random hearts aren't all that strange

Random hearts are blind
They see the best inside
Love survives with tender care
Random hearts desire
They light a brighter fire
This heart can't stand a day without you

Random hearts aren't all that strange
Put together then rearrange
Random hearts can be in love
Plenty as the stars above
Random hearts aren't all that strange

Random hearts are true
Just like me and you
Our hearts don't notice creed or culture

Random hearts aren't all that strange
Put together then rearrange
Random hearts can be in love
Plenty as the stars above
Random hearts aren't all that strange

c 2014 Hotston/Connor

Many thanks for taking the time
 :)

I think it's quite catchy Neil.and that was on one listen.Good use of repetition driving the theme home.

I liked the chord structure, bass, drums, guitar, singing, production, lyrics and melody - does that leave anything? This reminded me of later period Glen Campbell - particularly "Meet Glen Campbell" which is my favourite album by him. It has a kind of easy going, effortlessness to it, particularly in the vocal delivery. This is just my sort of thing - no fancy bells and whistles, not overproduced and emasculated but solid, honest to goodness playing, writing and musicianship. I could listen to an album of this.

Hi Neil

Nice west coast vibe you've got going on here. Sort of reminds me of brown eyed girl in a weird way (not west coast I know :p )

This is a well played, well produced and very pro sounding track.

If I had to nit-pick (cos that's all this track allows) I would say you could cut down on how often the title finds its way into the lyric. And bit of vocal harmony wouldn't go amiss on the choruses.

As Alan says, very down to earth, honest bit of songwriting & recording. Well done sir :)

Great feel to this and the sound is excellent.
Tone might have a point about the repetition of the title. It might pack more of a punch if it just came at the beginning and end of the parts?
Still very catchy despite not having a BIG hook. It just rolls along nicely and those guitars sound brilliant!
Take it easy.

You can check my stuff out here. Mini-album getting bigger slowly. Free download if you're poorer than me.

Nice easy-listening piece! Yeah Glen Campbell comes to mind. I liked the production - everything nicely balanced and in tune. Not as lyrically strong as some of your other stuff but very sing-a-long-able!

Hi guys, nice jingle jangly west coast guitar sounds going on. Vocal strong and suits the vibe. I think your lyrics are usually less obvious, but a nice vibe.catchy!
Nice one!
Cheers

very nice acoustic mix neil, picks up straight away..
once again youve got that natural unhurried feel. seems a little bass lite but..?
simplicity of it & tom petty comes to mind or the wilburys...
like your mates voice and agree with tone about possible harmony opportunities,
what do you two sound like singing together, could be a neat match ?
whatever it works great as is
tied up nicely by a classic ending..
i may not believe this tomorrow...
