Y'know if I had the chords I might try to cover it on guitar.
It wouldn't be as smooth, or as well produced with the harmonies n all but it'd be an interesting version.
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

And there you have it.

Nice recording, and the melody carries this well...........but, it's the lyrics that are interesting 8)
Written in a country sorta fashion (off the cuff, and straight from the heart), they seemed a bit clumsy, at first....but, they grew on me very quickly, and my appreciation swelled.
Nice job!

Hi Leo - loved this. It's great when someone takes a metaphor and really works it - can come out a little forced sometimes but I think you really pulled it off.

This one really plays to your vocal strengths too - those held notes at the end of phrases with a little runs, very expressive and suited to the emotion of the song.

Hi Leo

Must be my fifth listen now - the new version sounds even better with the natural piano - I'm a sucker for tickling ivories. Your choice of harmony lines really stand out to me - often augmenting the chord being played rather than being in it directly. Gives the vocals such great flow and texture.

Awesome work here! :)

Very impressive vocals. It reminded of The Beautiful South a bit here and there.

Bit blown away by how good it was really. Makes my piano playing look pathetically basic. lol

Well done.

Aah. Internet access problems.
Looking forward to hearing this new version.

I really like this kind of song/performance.
Communicating heartache theatrically.

Prince would do this this perfectly.
Check his "gotta' broken heart again".

I'd have a blast, covering this!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.
