I may have posted this some months ago
This is quite an altered version with me taking lead vocals, there are also some EQ adjustments made, I added a solo and a refrain.
The song is more complete this way.

As ever feedback is most welcome
on any aspect of the production, as I'm trying to evolve and feedback helps.

Lyrics:

wolves

we fall back on clichés at times like this,
I'd rather fall back with you instead,
onto the footpath, we could talk things over,
a forest of people moving over-head
but you don't want a little world,
an everywhere scenario, or not with me, not now

besides your hurrying for work and the words we use,
aren't words so much as cries,
just random sounds for all the stuff
we can't talk about, not yet,
but you don't want a little world,
an everywhere scenario, not with me, not now

not words so much as wolves
they hide behind the sunlit city buildings,
getting closer, dodging through the traffic and the crowds,
they gather in a circle around us,
howling, howling, howling, and when you leave,
they follow me back home

howling, howling, howling
they follow me back home

WOW.......awesome imagery. For me, the last lines of verses 1 & 2 are great hooks, both melodically and lyrically.
Love the ladies touch.
Good, good stuff...........

Well, I'm pretty sure I haven't heard this one before, mind you my memory isn't what it used to be!! I think this one of your strongest songs to date. It's very you for sure but the picture it paints is awesome. A great track, no crits from me. :)

I very much enjoy your slightly left-field writing and production style - really arresting. I like the jazzy little piano licks and dissonant guitar. Great song!

@rightly - Wolves 1 West Brom 0...Oh it's another wolves, love the BV's and the slight sleazy smoke filled bar atmosphere,  your work always surprises.

I think this is truly brilliant.

Quite a journey - full of surprises and, yes, very visceral and unpredictable in its feel. Musically really accomplished and arranged cleverly to give the vocals the chance to descend into beastly madness. Nice woody pulse keeps the whole thing pinned down - which is important. You have a different perspective in your work - which is always a positive, unique thing.

@rightly love the beginning of this, creepy… layering your vocal with the female vocal is great too… some really interesting treatments on the instruments too, there’s some great images in the lyrics, I particularly liked the final section ‘ they gather in a circle around us, howling, howling, howling, and when you leave,
they follow me back home’ yikes! Brilliant!
Sound formed in a vacuum may seem a waste of time...

An original melody with original transitions between tonalities.
Has catchy memorable moments. I really liked the intro, and I liked the musical ideas 0:47-1:05, 1:29-... etc. It sounds very nice and harmonious.
I also liked these back vocals.

I put some thought into
how to do this song, rather than my usual crashing in.
I had a lot of ideas in the first few sessions
It was a very interesting process,
New ideas never completely stopped coming it was hard to keep up
but it was time to move on.

Thanks
