Hi everyone,
this is my latest track....Cyclone....tried to keep it clean and stripped back....aiming for a smooth and laidback feel.
Your thoughts, as always, are very much appreciated.

You've put this together pretty well, but I'm not a fan of using vocal samples like this - it's like taking some nice ideas, then polluting it with someone else's song. The feel is really good but it sounds more like a remix than an original song. Am I being unfair? I'd be interested in what others think.

Hello @Mundane

Delicious string pads and a vocal that comes in just at the right time.  A fine vocalist too!

Please list the lyrics, althouh they words are very clear in this presentation.   it's good to read as the track progresses.

Some lovely contrasting instruments occupying different frequencies of the soundscape. Mostly, this song leaves me with a good, warm feeling.

Lovely work.

Hi Mundane.

Put me down as not a fan of vocal samples. Maybe it's because I'm an old pharte, but I'd love to hear the song with a genuine vocal, even if you had to sub someone a few quid.
It's a fine, airy song with good dynamics and a catchy melody.

Mundane,it certainly is not.

@Mundane  Very cool vibe and nice production. The music progresses nicely, carrying the listener very nicely

What synth package are you using? Some really cool sounds.

Hi everyone, thank you so much for taking the time to comment on this track.
@Bankie I agree with yours and @Skub comments about using vocal samples.  I don't normally use them mainly because inevitably they lack originality.  I'm in the process of creating a live set I can perform live using audio clips but realised with this one that it had gone beyond that chopped up feel but wanted to complete it anyway.  I have in the past turned to Fiverr for vocals and will no doubt venture that way again...sadly I have always considered my own vocals insufficient for the job, otherwise I would just do it myself.
For those interested the pads were created using Spitfire Audio's free BBC Symphony Orchestra...layering all the orchestral insturments up on independant tracks and creating individual parts for each instrument quickly gives a fab result.  Acoustic guitar was done using Ample Guitar's free Martin acoustic emulation and the E Piano was done using Addictive Keys Mark One stage Piano. @kevysc I use Spire for most of my synth sounds, the bass on this track was created using 3 seperate channels of Spire all with slightly different sounds mixed together to form the final sound.

I love this kind of thing. It would be great if more people explained what they used to generate a track, though it's probably best to listen to a track first to avoid preconceptions (for example, if I thought Ample Guitar was rubbish, probably best for me not to know that beforehand as it might force me to hear its imperfections).

@Mundane A very professional, polished production. I'll agree with others about the use of vocal samples. Different genre totally, but I have used them for backing vocals, but not for the main vocal. But I'm old fashioned and I appreciate that a lot of music is made this way now. It's very well done and I'd say you have a very commercial song here. I enjoyed listening. :)
