I don't do covers since I stopped gigging, but this song has always resonated strongly with me.

I was aiming for middle ground between the NIN and the JC version, trying to keep that feel of desolation.

Maybe some of you lot would like to listen.

Hey Davy, great stuff.  I didn't know this song at all until @adamfarr introduced me to it during the 'swingers' collab competition a few months back, and we sort of tried to borrow its vibe for our song then, coz it's a very cool poignant track isn't it?  Anyway this is a great take on it... I really like the restraint you've applied... it never quite explodes which I think keeps the whole thing feeling a little tense, which fits the lyrics perfectly.  Knowing your work you could easily have dropped in a gob-smacking guitar solo or something and I love those songs when you do, but equally am kind of glad you didn't in this delicate slightly claustrophobic piece.  Also love the BVs in the second half, and the delicate use of synths.  Top stuff.
It's all too beautiful.

What a fabulous interpretation of a great song Davy. You give it such great atmosphere and dynamics and it works really well. I think it’s interesting to do the odd cover now and again to explore some different styles and genres. Excellent

In Spanish to say that someone wasn't born yesterday, they say that someone has "seen more than 4 things". I think you need that to pull this track off. (JC had seen some things, and I feel you have seen about 400).

The track sounds huge - I particularly love the choir from around 1'20" - and great production touches too with the "thunder". Powerful stuff.
