Another song on the same theme as Stand For:

Take a human
Take their rights
Pour on the petrol
And look at the light

Stolen days
Of futures bright
Torch them all
And look at the light

I’m gonna take your home
I’m gonna take it all way
Yeah my gun is chrome
But it speaks with fire
- Would you like to play?

Run to the hills
Hey take yer baby with you
I got the skills
And there’s a thousand things I’m gonna do to you.

Take a human
Take their rights
Pour on the petrol
And look at the light

Roaring screams
Kept out of sight
Torch them all
And look at the light

Look at the people
And hear what they say
They’re also in chains
In their own, stupid way
Leading like lemmings
Now now gets the nod
Throwing the future
Gold as their God

@CorkingCrackBand  I think you have invented a new genre that I am calling  "Prog Broadway"! Love the piano in the verse on this one. Some great atmospheric instrumentation throughout and nice dark vocals. It's a Corker! Kevin

Hi @kevysc

It's always great to hear from you. I' glad you liked it. It's structural a bit atypical which may dissuade some but I feel it works quite well.

All the best,

CCB

By golly!
This is a dark one
Musically full of surprises (I'm beginning to expect that from you. Lol)
I really like the drama
The changes too.
Really minimal but very effective, that's an enviable skill.
I imagine a highly caffeinated opera singing lady making her nervous contributions.
I Really like this, still, I think it'd benefit from harmonic, operatic harmonising, here n there.

Thanks for sharing 👍
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

The intro sounds great, it prepares us for the mystery of the music that comes next, good job, I love that bass!!! next to the beat. I enjoyed its oriental and abstract colors, aantgarde is a name that would suit your work.
The change in the 1'20 approx. It caught me by surprise, impossible to get bored @CorkingCrackBand
I did not know that to live we had to die so many times

The intro is brilliant, from the percussive beginning to the foreboding piano and menacing strings. It steals the listener's attention, ensuring that they listen from start to finish.  I really like the way you switch from darkness to light then back again. It's always a pleasure to listen to your songs. Each of them presents a new surprise.

Yes...dark it is...there's a real sense of foreboding here...and then it flips into great up-beat 80s sound...and then back down again.

Great lyrics.

I really like the guitar noodling around 2:10...and the overall feel of unease is really well captured.

I was half expecting another burst into life towards the end, so you did me up like a kipper there...well done!

I love your music. I've said this before but you're fearless! I love the dark vibe here until the 'I’m gonna take your home'...section which goes a bit a bit too Meatloaf for my liking. You're better than that as the rest of track demonstrates. Sorry but I had to say it because that's just how I heard it. Otherewise a fabulous and very clever arrangement. :)
