Do You Dream of Winter Scenes?

Do you dream of winter scenes?
Snow is falling and it feel like the winter's taking hold ?
(It's cold, so cold)

Do you long for frosty air?
When breath is freezing and every scene's a beauty to behold ?
(It's cold, so cold)

But you're lying in the sun
And as your skin is turning brown
You feel so bored
(So bored, so bored)

So you dream of winter scenes
As the summer days drag on
But soon they will be gone
(They're gone, so gone)

No more lying in the sun
And as your skin is turning grey
You'll soon be gone
(So gone, so gone, so gone)

So just treasure every day
For they soon will slip away
And they'll be gone
(So gone, so gone, so gone)

Hi @kevysc

There's some really interesting chord choices here and each one took me by surprise which is a good thing. And to say it's a dark song, you end on a major chord which was great too.

You're so very close to having an amazing sound with your productions if it wasn't for the drums (at the risk of repeating myself). Just a few small changes would make a big difference.

I am in no way an expert, but if you ever wanted to send me everything but the drums, I'd be more than happy to have a go at doing some drums for you and adding them to the mix, just to see if it makes a difference to the dynamics :)

Me gustan mucho las melodías, I like a lot the melodies you sing, they are wrapped in a strange feeling and the arrangement supports this halo and turns it into a foreshadowing, enhancing the drama.

I would like hahaha what I am saying! that the so cold chorus had some effect and that it was heard more distant to have more relevance in the mix.

In addition it's really catchy @kevysc

Excellent melody and unpredictable chord changes -- both are pluses! Very good vocals. I enjoyed the atmosphere of the song. Very polished and professional. Well done!

Cheers,
Joseph

@kevysc Nice phased guitar which gives the track an unique atmosphere. I like the way that you have used the backing vocals and  there is a touch of early Bowie in there although not derivative. My only critique would be that the drums seem to follow a similar pattern throughout. Maybe that is what you intended but if not, varying the pattern in the chorus could give it a lift. Enjoyed the listen Kev

@moraamarolaloba @icystorm  Many thanks, glad you like it!

@Nick Ryder  I will certainly take you up on the offer of an alternate drum track : I have sent you a private message with a link to the drumless version :)

@pompeyjazz  Agree with your comment on drums, but hopefully help is on the way :)

Many thanks to @Nick Ryder for re-doing the drum track. I have posted the new version which I think really adds  to the dynamics of the track , Kevin

Love the lyrics. Yes, there's a Bowie sound to it (I mean that as the highest compliment - do you like the refs or do they annoy you? I hope the former). As was said, some interesting chord choices. I guess I'm listening to Nick's drums - they sound great..

Quality material as usual, @kevysc !

@MonnoDB Glad you like it ... and i am always very happy to be compared to Bowie. I don't think i do it consciously, but over the years, have listened a lot to him and I guess some of it rubbed off :)  Kevin

@kevysc This is a really cool song.  I agree about a touch of Bowie in the general atmosphere of the track.  It also brings to mind certain things I've listened to from Robert Wyatt.  Evocative lyrics, too.  Makes me think there's more going on here than the passing of the seasons.
