Hi guys,

This song is titled Duvet Days, and is about those days where you achieve nothing but it still makes you feel good.

Lyrics:-

[Verse 1]
Take a break from reality
A breather from normality
And let everything in your life drop
Sit back in your chair
And stare into thin air
And slow down, so much that you just stop

Shut yourself away and say
"I'm not going to do anything today"
No need to get dressed
Leave your hair a mess
And curl up comfy in your duvet

[Chorus]
Time to time, you've just got to forget what's going on
Close your eyes, put your headphones in and pick a song
Relax, let life roll off your back because
Today is your duvet day

[Verse 2]
Realistically, I should be, doing productive things
But I'd much rather sit here picking dirty strings
And the world can go away for today, or just an hour or two
Until it's time to see what tomorrow brings

Shut yourself away and say
"I'm not going to see anyone today"
No need to get dressed
No-one to impress
Just curl up comfy in your duvet

[Chorus]
Time to time, you've just got to forget what's going on
Close your eyes, put your headphones in and pick a song
Relax, let life roll off your back because
Today is your duvet day

[Bridge]
On duvet days
We don't let the sunshine
Through the windows
We close the curtains
And hibernate

[Chorus]
Time to time, you've just got to forget what's going on
Close your eyes, put your headphones in and pick a song
Relax, let life roll off your back because
Today is your duvet day

Any feedback/criticism is greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Sam.

Hi,

Nice guitar playing and vocal. Some interesting harmonies (2.17 almost Queen-like). Like the solo. Got a nice summer feel to it. Would like to hear another instrument in there, may be some harmonica or such - just for something different.
Pretty sure the sun tried to peek through the grey clouds for a moment.
Now, how do I get a duvet day?

Cheers,

Digger

This is a fine song.  Lovely vocals and guitar work.  It's not something that I really want to analyse/critique.  I'd rather simply say, that I enjoyed listening a great deal!

Thanks Sam - You could have written this song for me ... I am a duvet person for sure :)  However, this lovely lively song would be more likely to have me bouncing on the bed or dancing around the garden - I think your vocal delivery is classically British and honest, so clear too.  I kept thinking this would actually make a really good kids song.  There was so much I liked about this one, some unusual notes and some thoughtful, fun extras.

This is very bright, a happy song. Sort of Boo Radleys meets Blur with some cheeky chappy 'lazy sunday afternoon'. My 11 month old LOVES it !!

Really nice mate, if I were to offer critique it may be to tighten up the backing vocals a touch, but that said, it may then lose some of it's charm so I wouldn't change it too much.

Good Job :)
