The high frequency panning on the organ is a "LESLIE" rotating speaker effect...like a B3 Hammond...I wanted that in a big way, I love the old rotating Leslie sound with that distortion in there, and like the tension it creates ---and someone mentioned the "chimes...there are brass wind chimes used at points BUT there is a CHAIN, a chain from a Swag Lamp, the kind of chain you run across the hook to a Tiffany lamp for example and I brought a 3-4 foot section of metal swag chain and we mic'd it and I played it like a tambourine...you can hear it enter during the second verse...yes that's LAMP Chain!

Youlight up my life...LOL...cheers everyone, thanks, love ya!

Mike, I LOVE this. It's got a 50's feel but sounds so current. When I read the lyrics I was prepared for it to be soppy rubbish, but you've written an absolute corker, a bit cheeky, funny and with a proper message. I'm very impressed mate.

Thanks Andy and Richey ---a CORKER? I will take that as a Geordie compliment! My mum used to say I was a Cheeky Devil !  Then sometimes I was a "bugger" or a "Sod" too...my folks were from Wallesend, outside Newcastle.

Hi Mike,

It was a real pleasure listening to this song.  It conjures up images of the summertime.  creating a feeling that there isn't a care in the world and that it was new love is all about.

The song is extremely well played and recorded.  I thoroughly enjoyed this.  :)

Excellent!

Hi Mike,

Every time I Listen to this song it just sounds better and better. I must have listened half a dozen times or more now, it really is very very good. If you had recorded this in the 70's you would be famous by now.

Top work
Allan.

Good song (always love me some backing "oohs"), Nice words, nice feel, nice arrangement

Were it my track - The "keys/chain" sound used as percussion would go. It's harsh on the ear in cans and not to my liking. Was it employed as a sonic nod to the "chains of love?"  ;D

The spoken ending again isn't something I would do but this is a taste thing not a right/wrong.

Great melodies and strong writing all around
