Not 30minutes ago I had another one thru my studio.... The parents with the 16 year old daughter. I recorded her demo, gave some basic vocal coaching and then find out she is prepping for the xfactor.

These girls, nay, families, build there hopes so high.

Another story from this week. A lass who went on xfatcor 2 years ago. She queued for 12 hours. Sang for 10 seconds to a panel who didnt even look up. Got her no and went home. Next to her is a sign saying "You may NOT question the answer of the judge"

This is a machine and it is little short of evil. Preying on the hopes of youngsters to sell advert time and cheesy pop records. I used to be nonchalant about the whole thing. It makes my blood boil more and more.

Of course. No one HAS to go on these shows. But I do feel they are mis-sold.

This gal today likes my songs and said I should SO go on xfactor. I took it for the misplaced compliment it was¬!!

In other news, I heart Kylie... I am far more likely to watch the voice. That lass can sing, great pitch and lungs.

It was her lungs you were admiring, right Boydie??  :o :o

I tried getting into the voice but I just couldn't. I like the idea of it and what Jess says sounds good but I just found it quite boring, like there's nothing there. I remember watching the last seasons a semi final waiting for Avril Lavigne to perform and that was right at the bed so I had to watch EVERYONE ELSE and the programme just seemed to drag.

Anyway lets hope this gets X factor isn't all bout the next big boy and who can't actually sing but they're 'good looking'! Urrgh I really hate boy bands...
VOTE FOR JUNE LOTM!!!!!!!

It'd be nice if X-factor improved their credibility by introducing a new group of finalists -

musician/songwriters

They would have to play an instrument and perform their own songs

I bet one of them would win :)

I must say I'm a bit of a fan of the show. You just never know what's going to come out of the mouths of the contestants. I love it when an overweight, middle aged woman who has never done anything she's proud of in her life can suddenly have an audience eating out of her hands. I'm not talking a Subo but there are usually one or 2 every year.
