Strontium 90

A little song I have been working on for far, far too long, still work in progress, never finished, only abandoned (aint they all)...

This is about the end days, the nuclear apocalypse, the end of times I guess. It takes samples from the UK 1970-80's "Protect and Survive" emergency broadcast planned for release in the event of the cold war going sour. I'll link some of them at the end.

Comments welcome. No-one likes the guitar "solo", but its meant to represent nuclear war fall out and is inspired by the protect and survive broadcasts. I dunno, I like it....

Certainly shows some guitar prowness , that's the best part of the track . Kinda bummed me out on the end of times at 2:am waking up . What makes a nuclear apocalypse so inspiring ?

Thanks but not necessarily... its amazing what you can do with composites in a half decent sequencer nowadays. For example, the "solo" is just the first very short "widdle, widdle, widdle, widdle, widdle" pitched up and down to follow the bass, layered at 7ths, occasionally reversed, pan and volume mixed and EQ'ed and the raw sequence has been slung through a guitar amp sim (SGear) then through a tempo synced delay and reverb unit. The "widdle, widdle, widdle, widdle, widdle" was a tiny tiny bit that I liked snipped out from a very long jam of utter nonsense. I could never play it live at all... But now I'm giving away secrets... This is a songwriters forum after all
