V1
I’m still running jumping hurdles
I count my troubles by the bundles
A mountain of stress weighs on my chest
Next week I go in for tests

Pre
The horizon is a sheet of dark clouds
I eat I sleep and every night I dream about

Ch
Somewhere south of a memory
I'm on a river with Marie
The moon is a bit brighter
The world a tad kinder
Time hangs like a vine from a mangrove tree,
Somewhere south of a memory

V2
The doctor’s prognosis isn’t good
A broken heart can’t be fixed like wood
A year ago I had my whole life to live
Now its Jack Daniels and sedatives
pre

She left me standing on muddy banks
North of where our boat sank
Ch
bridge
I'd rather talk to her ghost at midnight stoned
At least I won't feel so damn alone
Ch
Somewhere south of a memory
I'm on a river with Marie
The moon is a bit brighter
The world a tad kinder
Time hangs like a vine from a mangrove tree
I wish I could stay here for eternity
Somewhere south of a memory

Hi Elvis. Your production skills are fantastic. Clean crisp vocals, perfect guitar sound, lovely slide and nice thumping bass. Your Texas drawl fits the song perfectly and I can picture you playing this song on stage with a country backing band. I'm very jealous of your production and would love to hear your rendition of my last track. Keep up the good work.

Yeah it's not so funny anymore

300lb!! That's a hell of a fish. You'd need the mother of all nets to land that. Great story. I've been using an app called starry AI for pics, amazing what you can do. Just seen, it was your neighbour that was 300 lb not the fish, oh well never mind.

@Elvis Nash

I listened to this yesterday and wanted to revisit it on my days off from work.  The production of course is so good.  I love guitars so bring it on!  It has a lovely laid-back feel and the vocal sits nicely in the mix.  It's great to hear instruments come and go. Fine interplay with piano and guitar all supporting an emotional melody and well-written lyrics.

Wow, I’ve not heard your stuff before but you are obviously a top practitioner in your genre. All very melodic with sweet instrumentation and fantastic production.

Very economic mid8 that sets up the next chorus so well.

Great stuff all round. 👍
My latest novel: pls check it out!

Hi
I like the lyrical imagery
And the music seems to very concentrated here
Less musical phases, giving the whole thing a powerful direction
At least to my ear
Jack Daniels
I know it's iconic n all
But the taste isn't much at all
I don't know of any Scottish export that isn't better
Japanese is said to be very good too
I'm ramblin,
Very good song elvis!
It's either this or that, then again it might be the other.

I can promise you a future of slow decline.

Don't eat the yellow snow

And there you have it.

Jack Daniels is just a ( country music ) cliche . I don't even drink . The co-writer and I just made it a (She's gone again song ). I haven't written one in 2 years or so , The logic on not doing them before . Publishers hate them , But I don't pitch any more , So it doesn't matter what I do as a artist now. I do have a bottle of whiskey , once in awhile I knock back a shot lol.

Thanks Rightly .

A compliment for the crazy guy with Bill Burr Syndrome
Its gets the point across , thank God for Nashville , I suck . ( Oh Cowboy Chords )
I call it denture phrasing , I glue them in good so they don't fly out and kill the producer.
thanks

First time I have actually listened to you as not normally a genre I would listen except for maybe Chris Stapleton and Travis Meadows, was pleasantly surprised.
I did listen a few more times and the more I listened the more I liked it.
The lyrics are very well worked out, hope someone famous picks it up
The only thing that bugged me slightly was the second line in the chorus sounded a bit to full and muddled musically that is
