This is a draft of an original song developed from an instrumental piece that incorporated violin (which was originally the lyrical score of the song), acoustic and bass guitars. I put the following structure here in case anyone wants to practice their vocal harmonies or instrumental accompaniments. This recording was made for collaborative purposes.

Chords: E,B,A,C,D

D           E
There's a place I know
B
Only in dreams
          A
Where I can see you
      C                  D
But you can't see me

E
I see a cabin near
B
Two parting streams
          A
At the edge of a wood
C           D                E
Where a mockingbird sings

E
Then the dream fades
B
Slowly a-way
             A
But your image remains
     C                 D
Tor-menting my day

E
And the only thing
B
I want to do
    A
Is dream again
C        D           E
To get closer to you

E
I need you to see me
       B
Just once in my dream
          A
Where one stream is you
            C          D
And the other is me
E
If our eyes could meet
      B
For more than a glance
        A
Then maybe I'll know
C     D           E
That I have a chance

E
Yes if our eyes could meet
         B
You'd see in my heart
       A
And then you would know
  C                D
I need a new start

E
And maybe you'd break
      B
The spell of my dream
       A
And let me awake
C            D                  C
From this broken heart theme
C                D                 E
The one the mockingbird sings

@idunno ,

Sounds like an old ballad.
Beautiful and lyrical melody. Good performance!

Vicki

Beautiful folky ballad. Reminds me of some of the music of Seals & Crofts. And I love Seals & Crofts, so....

Rightly

This is lovely
It has something medieval about it
Sounds timeless
And very well performed.
