New track from the New Bones. All feedback welome!

Vicki

This is great! I hear a lot going on in the lyric; I'd love to have the words in front of me so I could study them.

Hi, thanks for the feedback - I really appreciate it.

Here are the words ...

Like a Ship Without a Sail

Neon tide under a tin can moon
The radio static hides a tune
Waiting on a spark in a world gone gray
Cigarette ghosts dance upon the pier
Trading their dreams for a souvenir
I reach for the night but it fades away

Like a ship without a sail
Cast adrift, without a way back home
The sands of time, they will prevail,
Cos you know that I'm
Waiting for a love worth mine

I'm a paper boat on a rising tide
I flick a stone through a hole in the sky
Gone are the stars in this darkened place
I built a raft out of worn-out prayers
Tied them up with a lock of her hair
I'm drifting around where the waves don't break

Like a ship without a sail
Cast adrift, without a way back home
The sands of time, they will prevail,
Cos you know that I'm
Waiting for a love worth mine

I will find my way, find my way back home

The stars appear like runway lights
But I'm grounded in the dead of night
I watch the tide but she never turns
The siren sings from a record groove
A love song stuck in an endless loop
I'm still waiting for a flame to burn

Like a ship without a sail
Cast adrift, without a way back home
The sands of time, they will prevail,
Cos you know that I'm
Waiting for a love worth mine

I will find my way, find my way back home

What a lot of great images! My favorite line:
I reach for the night but it fades away

Hi,

I like your song, it reminded me of the sixties, my only critique would be I think the intro is a bit long but that is subjective. Anyway it doesn't detract from the song just a personal observation, well done.

Becky

Great! Very Beatleseque.

The "i will find my way" bit sounds chorussy but you don't get to it till quite late in the song. Could be worth getting to it a bit earlier?
